Introduction

Katalina is arguably the first character of my modern RP process which began in roughly 2015. After a hiatus from RP in the 2000s, I returned and experimented with a few characters. Katalina was originally the name of an entirely different character, the daughter of my character Koren who, in at least one story, had become a vampire. I took that concept and injected it into Vampire the Masquerade and created a unique personality that became one of my most successful characters. She infuses many of my cultural and political views and preferences, heavily expresses my musical tastes, and draws from the strongest parts of my personality. Katalina was the first of my characters to have a fully scalable timeline/progression, a trait that all of my main characters share now. She is my only primarily dominant character codebase.

A high power-fantasy character actively played and developed since 2015, the first character to use my modern process, and a huge influence on other characters made since - Katalina is among my most venerable character cores. This is a specific-character core, built around a Brujah vampire in VTM born in the late 1600s and played in modern nights. While highly influential to other cores, Katalina was a lesser core until roughly 2019 when the Santa Monica Nights setting was serialized. Katalina became a robust core in 2022 and remains a bleeding edge character core - pushing my writing forward. The individual character, however, is in need of revision.

Boomer Katalina

Boomer Katalina is a re-imagining of Katalina. While using the exact same personality core, and a mostly identical story core, Katalina uses a different attribution core to create a fresh take. Rather than a Brujah elder, Boomer Katalina is a Toreador born in the 1950s. Much of the original intention of who Katalina is expressed here - while bringing in more modern storytelling techniques and characterization. Boomer Kat is posed to replace the original as the main core of the codebase.
