Korine - Tales of Alfador

Introduction

Korine is my largest character codebase. She is a highly configurable character that can be tailored into virtually any setting and situation. Whereas most of my characters consist of one, or a small number of character cores, Korine contains dozens. She is the first robust compiled character, setting the blueprint for the replacement of my older fully compiled character creation process.

Korine was created as a replacement of Koren during the early days of my real life gender transition. Initially she was imagined to be a 'feminized Koren', but very quickly became her own character with strong resemblances to Koren but is clearly not the same character and could, in theory, be written together in a single story coherently.

Korine Brannogyn

The tall, muscular, and blonde fantasy version of Korine. The original version of Korine. A bright personality, strong morality, an usually played as a barbarian with supernatural strength and a magnetic personality despite a lack of intellect.

Bright Eyes/Korine Eisgarten

• Robust Core / Generic Character
• Creation Date: Mid/Late 2016
• Original Setting: Shadowrun
• Dervied From: Bright Eyes (Koren)

Thinner, paler, with black hair - BE is a darker and grittier flavor of Korine written for cyberpunk, sci-fi noir, and dark modern fantasy settings. She is generally jaded, moody, highly competent, and solitary.

Macedonian Korine

• Creation Date: May 2023
• Original Setting: Conan Exiles
• Derived From: Bright Eyes (Korine) / Roman Korine

MK is a variant forked originally from BE but injected with KB's sense of morality and built for fantasy. MK is also built with enslavement and gladiatrix themes in mind in her backstory, making her the least assertive main core but also paradoxically more violent and gritty.

Korine Talon

• Derived From: Koren Talon / Bright Eyes (Korine)

Related very closely to Korine Eisgarten, but distinct enough that she is her own standalone core. She is a direct descendant of Koren Talon - compiled in the same manner with a revised character backstory and modernized RP concepts. The KT character core is only used for the original character it was designed for.

Roman Korine

• Type: Fast-code Core / Generic Character
• Creation Date: 2021
• Original Setting: Ancient Rome (Generic Fantasy)
• Derived From: Korine Brannogyn

A variant of Macedonian Korine that is even less physically powerful and assertive than baseline. RK technically predates MK but is considered a minor core now, revised based off of MK.

Conan Korine

• Type: Sub-core / Generic Character
  • Parent Core: Korine Brannogyn
• Creation Date: Mid 2017
• Original Setting: Conan Exiles

A variant I often play in Conan RP servers, forked from KB. Conan Korine is characterized by her simplified speech patterns, lower intellect, and a jovial nature despite her intimidating appearance and often dark backstory. Conan Korine was responsible for much of the early success with Korine as a character and greatly influenced the entire codebase's growth.

Silence

Type: Sub-core / Specific Character

• Original Setting: Forgotten Realms / Halcyon

A specific version of MK that was played on the Conan Exiles server Halcyon. Silence is a pious, religious version of MK that can be evil or 'redeemed'.
